Overview
Training aims to help in strengthening the capacity of organizations,
communities and individuals to reduce the impact of disasters. This is achieved through enhancing
knowledge and skills as well as promoting disaster reduction practices as an integral
part of the development process.
It also provides a range of learning opportunities to disaster managers who wish to include knowledge of disaster management in their on-going professional development.
Till date, a number of training programmes have been conducted at community
levels viz on Search & Rescue and First Aid. The aim of these trainings are to equip the community as first responders till outside help arrives.
